When life hands you downloads?
Jun. 9th, 2005 10:07 amI meant to play EQ2 last night, but I was foiled by EQ2 map taking an hour to download a meg (even on dialup, that's a bit much) then two hours to download two more megs as it updated itself. Then EQ2 *itself* had to patch, which took another two hours. So I got to play around midnight. By then anyone I might have wanted to play with would long since be asleep, so I made a new character on Grobb (Terishaell, a Kerran priestess) and started working through the Isle of Refuge.
Before that, I caught up on some DVR'd TV ('The Doctor Dances' and some robot chicken) and verified my first impression that most of the precons sucked. The green/white spiritcraft one ('Truth Seekers') was salvageable, so I salvaged it, cannibalizing the green/red one and using some other cards. I disassembled the two 'hand matters' decks into a red/blue version going for a kill with Spiraling Flames and Twincast... only, on successive test runs, to take out progressively more and more of the 'hand matters' crap for other cards that actually tended to work. It turned into a 'freed from the real + vulshock sorcerer' deck with some card draw and direct damage.
Translation: The 'hand matters' crap is as crappy after a close examination as it looked at first impression, meaning that about half of Saviors is a total waste of cardstock. But watch, someone else'll figure out how to abuse it properly. }:P
