Warlocks are hard to build. I hope they're easier to play.

For the Sunday game, we're making characters, and I decided to be a warlock. The original plan was to be a human, but then I realized that halflings were better, even without racial stat mods, because they're small and get +1 to-hit. And +1 to saves is worth the feat. I'd take blasphemous utterance and see the unseen, later on fell flight...

But, wait -- fell flight only gives you a fly speed equal to your land speed. Fly 20? o.O I'd be the laughingstock of the warlock world! I needed a speed of 30. So back to --

Wait a second, without racial stat mods, Kobolds look *really* cool. Small, 30 ft move, natural armor, darkvision. Much better than a stinky halfling.

Of course, Tom had said that we had to be able to walk around in town without causing a fuss, but disguise is a class skill for warlocks, and it's only -2 to disguise yourself as a member of another race. I could drop see the unseen, since I already had darkvision, and take beguiling presence instead, just in case someone saw through it.

Or should I take the spiderclimb thing and skip fly altogether, in favor of the ray mod that blinds people? Gah.

Bad discovery -- Empower and Quicken Spell-Like Ability don't work on the warlock's blast ability, because they only work on abilities whose spell level is half your level -2 or -4, and its level is always half your level. Damn it. I guess that frees up a few feats for other stuff, though. Like item creation feats. }:P
