...it's just that it's not happening when I'm in the mood or position to write it down.

Saturday, for instance, the weather was really nice, so I decided to drive down to Lake Sammammish park and take a walk along the beach. When I got (all the way down) there, though, it was pay-to-park, and since I was planning on spending maybe a half hour tops there the $5 fee didn't seem reasonable. I suppose since it was after hours I could have just parked and not paid -- I've heard they use the honors system after all their employees go home -- but IMO if it's not worth paying $5 it's not worth breaking the law either.

So, anyway, I decided to go to Illisionz, which was near there, and maybe use up some of the money still on my card -- it's hard, because all their games suck except DDR, which bites. My knees and ankles. And chews on them.

But I was on the wrong side of the freeway, and don't know the roads around Issaquah very well, and ended up trapped in the interlocking parking lots of three or four (I'm not sure how to count them) strip malls for about a half hour until I finally found the way out again. When I'd originally gone in the idea was to maybe shop or something, but I realized I really wasn't in the mood to buy anything.

So, having wasted a lot of time doing nothing, I took the freeway homewards, getting off an exit early to stop at a Safeway and pick up some snacks. But the store was closed. Forever.

That has to be the least productive driving trip I've ever taken -- usually the 'stop at a grocery store as a last resort' step works even if nothing else does.

I went over to the cafeteria just not to get a mocha smoothie, but at the last second decided to change my mind and get some two-for-one afternoon bake-sale muffings and a latte.

This came to more than the small change I had on me, so I had to pay with a twenty. The cashier gave me change for a ten. I pointed this out, and after managing to get through the language barrier (few of the workers in the cafeteria are from this country; she looks Russian) she reluctantly gave me the proper change.

Of course, while waiting for the coffee, I had to second-guess myself. *Had* I given her a ten? I wasn't sure. I remember looking right at it and thinking '20', but...

At any rate, my mind was set at ease when she gave me my coffee and apologized suspiciously profusely for giving me the wrong change. Obviously, she'd been trying to steal from me, otherwise she wouldn't have been so apologetic.
