Weakling Toughs
Feb. 9th, 2003 05:46 pmToday was Loxley's World Tree game. We went to a bar and beat up some thugs, and captured their leader. There was also some drama. Unfortunately, it was OOC.

The drama was Slytherin's attempts at being useful in combat: 'I'll hook one of the thugs with my cane, then use him as a weapon to hit his buddies!' And so on. The GM ruled they were brawling maneuvers. Difficult ones. He didn't have brawling skill, and wanted to use pole/staff skill. I tried to work out how that would possibly work. He complained that I was making it too complicated. And... it went on from there. For a while.
The silliest part was when he was saying he should be able to do ridiculous stuff because Sly Cooper did it in the video game... and it wasn't stuff Sly ever did. I don't think he ever actually played the game, although he might have seen a commercial for it.
Eventually, we decided he could re-make his character with Loxley's help to do what he wanted it to do... but he just blew that off with, 'oh, whatever. I'll just make a different character since combat is so complicated and stupid'.
I'm not particularly sure I want to game with him.
