Laptop

I'm trying to set up my laptop to be a real computer, but I keep running into roadblocks, like Sony restricting its modified ATI drivers to only install on the laptops that originally shipped with them, or Pueblo apparently vanishing off the face of the earth (even off the mirror sites!).

Simcity 4 looks neat... but it has the same problems on my laptop as Neverwinter Nights -- horribly slow performance and a headache-inducing flickering mouse cursor leaving scudge.

I hope MOO 3 works properly on my laptop, or... well, I might have to get a new desktop too, and that would be expensive. }:P Or maybe it'll have low enough system requirements that I can run it on a 433?

At least I've got a net connection to the laptop now... need to stop and pick up Asheron's Call 2 so I can break my vow about never ever playing a MMORPG again.

Deus Ex Machina

Tonight was Lance's Traveller game, moved to Tuesdays semi-permanently because Lance doesn't think he can always make it Thursdays. Dan didn't show up today, either, or call ahead to say he wouldn't. A perfect 0% attendance!

As far as the game is concerned, a problem that threatened to kill the party miraculously (and illogically) solved itself, then we were welded to a boxcar and rolled down the rails to a distant star system, where there be robots.
