Tonight was Lazar's friday game, but he decided to end the campaign where we stopped last week (at a beach, waiting for the apocalypse) because he was totally burnt out on GMing. Which is fine -- it was a decent place to end it.

So, instead we spent the night hashing out the technology and rules for character creation for the next campaign, in which Lazar will not be the GM. Instead, he's playing the space ship. An intelligent, psychic, open-source space ship. Open source software, hardware, and crew.

Actually, EVERYONE in this universe is psychic, thanks to the nanites implanted in every single last person. Basically, due to widespread use of nanotech, anyone without nanites would be dead really quickly. What the nanites are useful for varies, though... Lazar's ship is good at micromanipulation of matter (mostly computer hacking).

My character is focused on macromanipulation of matter (blowing shit up). I'm playing a Dread Pirate Space Otter named Bric-a-Brac, who was caught and clockwork-oranged, and is currently on parole.

There's also a possible psychic focus on mental domination or illusions, but I don't know if anyone in the party is going to swing that way.

We didn't actually start playing tonight, though.

I met the worst GM in the world today, at WotC at the mall. I haven't played in his group is years, ever since I quit over him throwing me out because I was threatening to quit, after the big nasty argument about XP distribution and the percentage of same going to his friend's attractive wife.

Anyway, he told about how a couple months after I left the entire group disintegrated (as I'd predicted at the time) and I tried not to gloat. Then we talked about various game systems... he wanted to do superheroes, so I recommended Nobilis (which I thought would suit him) and BESM (which I thought would drive him crazy), but he wanted something more genre-specific.

He was also looking for games with interesting mechanics, so I showed him Ironclaw, but he was turned off instantly as soon as he saw it had anthropomorphics.

He also hinted at wanting to start a group and potentially inviting me. I don't think I still hate him, but I'd rather pry my own eyes out with a spoon than game with him again. So I said 'maybe'. }:P He was probably only doing it to be polite anyway.

I was playing around with the new posable (instead of motorized) zoids, and made a cute little thing out of the cat and owl. I wanted to show it off, so I took a picture of it with my digital camera, and... er...

Right. There was a cable, once, that let me get the pictures *out* of the camera and into my computer. But that was at my last apartment. And in the two years since I've moved, I've never actually used the camera, so I now have no idea whatsoever where the cable might be, let alone the installation disk for the software to run it -- I'm not sure I was even using this computer at that point.
