Today was Tom's RttToEE game. We're clearly nearing the end of the adventure, so it probably isn't all that horrible that my character's about to get utterly destroyed.

So, since they had some teleports and thought it might be useful to have their Fighters in possession of more intelligence than a lizard, the party decided to teleport back to Veluna and buy some high-level clerical lovin' before heading back to the tower. The NPC Bard and Dwarf decided to stay in Veluna for professional help with the Bard's state of non-living-ness rather than trust the party's clerics, and Tenaris finally decided that she was insanely outmatched, so only Kelder and Celeste remained to help.

The lower levels of the tower remained unguarded the next day. The party found some weird purple potions that matched the weird purple crystal, and when something from *inside* the crystal attacked them, decided the potions might be linked and drank them. Sure enough, they allowed the party to enter the crystal, where they demolished the night hags but decided not to press their luck by killing off the enthralled doom dreamers -- who they knew were actually in the thrall of the crystal from the mind flayer oracle, and so probably not a threat.

They also fought a Vrock. It was slightly annoying but didn't do much. They found a deck of many things and some of the party drew from it, but no one got anything especially good or bad.

Then, just after triggering a symbol of madness which took out Piko (Mepechu's wolf) and Thanos (the party's primary fighter), they were ambushed by the Third of the tower, a horribly powerful cleric, who attacked them using an image projected through a small, invisible hole in an invisible wall of force. Mepechu noticed that the giant purple crystal extended to this level, and plunged through it into the chamber where the cleric was hiding, and cast Obscuring Mi -- oh, wait. She didn't memorize Obscuring Mist today. She did, in fact, have no offensive spells whatsoever. So she picked up the bed in preparation for throwing it across the door to block the line of effect to the image, but...

...well, the rest of the party decided to uselessly attack the projected image, and had then been stunned by a Blasphemy spell, leaving Mepechu alone in the room with the hideously powerful, insane evil cleric. Who had been predicted (by a modified DoMT vision) to cast 'Destruction' next (after silence and blasphemy). So she probably won't get the chance to do much of anything, ever again.

last session next session

Can't miss RPG accessory -- SCREAMING CHILDREN AT THE TABLE! I mean, literally, Shawn had his screaming kid at the table screaming for the last half of the session, and we could barely hear each other talk. Fricking kids.
