Must... control.... fist of death...
Apr. 7th, 2003 02:19 pmI really don't want to be at work today. First of all, I'm jet-lagged from daylight savings time. Secondly -- and this is the one that won't go away on its own -- there's an annoying subsystem I have to do some work with that's full of black boxes and pure developer APIs -- the sort that are never meant for release to the public, and are often generated ad hoc, as people need them.
I also have to edit data files used by our build process, which means that step one is always to figure out which files are used for a given task this week.
While trying to do this, I knock on someone's door, and he's busy with an interview. Fine, I'll just go ask someone else. But while trying to tell him that, he drones on continuously:
N: "I'll come talk to you later."
me:"N --"
N: "I'm in an interview, so I'll have to talk to you later."
me:"B --"
N: [slowly, in 'talking to moron' mode]"I'll COME BY YOUR OFFICE and talk to you AFTER THE INTERVIEW."
At that point I gave up and just shouted over him, "NO I'LL JUST GO ASK SOMEONE ELSE."
I hate people.
