Well, it was probably a bad idea to spend all day playing AC2 before the scheduled AC2 session tonight, but... er... I'm stupid?

I did the soulbound weapons quest, successfully, but there were certain issues that made it sort of embarassing. Firstly, a couple people were headed towards the dank empyrean ruins, so I said I'd tag along after them... but I had to load the dungeon, over a dialup, and they didn't. And they didn't wait for me. So I followed the trail of corpses in... and found someone *else* making his way in. So I followed him. He was level 48.

The point of going into the ruins was to use the Isin Dule chest there to get a crystal, so I waited while he opened the chest, until it closed again, then opened it and got mine. And he started 'politely' explaining to me how I'd screwed him out of a (fairly rare and valuable) Isin Dule key by trying to use the chest at the same time as him, closing it on him.

It wasn't me. Honest. He probably double clicked on the chest due to lag or something -- AC2s a bit touchy when it comes to using items (that's how I failed Sclavus Hierophant Cabals). I didn't try to convince him, though.

Later, at the armoury, I ran ALL THE WAY DOWN to the end without noticing that I hadn't given the crystal to the golem at the entrance. Which I hadn't seen. Because the dungeon hadn't fully loaded the first time. So it was back to the top, then... I died. So this poor guy I was fellowed with had to run me through the dungeon three times -- he was a ranger, and it was his pet and his bow that did most of the killing... I just sort of healed him when he needed it and tried not to die, with varying levels of success.

So, finally, I got the recipe for the soulbound spear, and Spider John (the poor fool who agreed to fellow with me) gave some of his extra (fairly rare and valuable) white pyreal to help me actually complete the quest right away.

Yay! I have a new spear! And it raises my missile mastery! So I can untrain missile paragon for a couple levels (I'm not to the point where I can actually put experience into Paragon yet), and get melee GM and pin instead, for better soloing! }:P
