Why does the military autobuild ground troops and transports before space-superiority ships? All the troops in the world don't do me any good if I can't defeat their space fleet. It's not like I can use them to defend or anything -- they go into my abstract 'reserve' which isn't actually located on any planet.

Why does it autobuild troops one at a time, when this wastes 70% of the planet's production capacity because of the 'minimum build time'? Why, when correcting this manually, is the next step up '5 troops', which takes several years?

Why are the default troop ships system ships? OR How in FRICKING HELL do I move troop transports to other planets to invade? Whichever is currently making it impossible.

Why does the AI colonize the most distant colonies first, instead of, perhaps, colonizing them in the order you specify, or colonizing the closest first, or any other scheme that wasn't as horribly inefficient as possible?

Why can't you pick *where* you want your migrated population to come from? I basically want my relatively overcrowded homeworld to ship its population everywhere else, but if I set every world but it to migrate, the emigration evens out and the net result is pretty much nothing at all.

Why does the AI autobuild the *smallest* ship that can be built at a spaceyard instead of the largest? Economies of scale make the larger ship 25% more expensive and twice as effective.

Why are unarmed scouts able to blockade planets that aren't defended by mobile units?

Why don't spies do anything except instantly get captured? Why do I have to pay 50 AU a turn for each spy of mine that got captured? Why do spies come out of training essentially untrained, and only get *worse* the longer they're in the field? Why don't enemy spies have these problems?

Why am I still playing this game?
