Little Things that Kill
Feb. 5th, 2003 04:13 pmThere's one song in the 98 tape rotation that I listen to at work that I always look forwards to... 'Here Comes the Flood' by Peter Gabriel. Too often, it goes by without my noticing it, though, even though I feel a little excited when I put in that tape -- it's last on the tape, after a string of kind of forgettable songs like 'Solsbury Hill', and I get distracted easily.
Today, though, I noticed it as it was beginning, and turned up the volume so that I could listen to it properly. I normally keep the volume way down to avoid bothering the people in neighboring offices. No, I can't use headphones -- they give me a headache if I use them for more than a couple hours.
But as I was groovin' to the song, a coworker HAD to come and knock on the door to ask me a question I couldn't really answer, and completely ruin everything.
