Today was Loxley's online world tree game. The returning explorers were greeted as heroes, and offered another job by the Aberdeen merchant house.

Wonko's father was very glad to see him back alive and reasonably safe... but couldn't pay the party what they were owed right away. He promised to have the money by the end of the week, but the company/family was in trouble because of a run of 'bad luck' -- the sort of bad luck that suggests a conspiracy might be involved.

Cimmaronovia and Wonkotirip then dropped a bombshell -- they were getting married, despite Cimm's pre-existing arranged marriage to a minor noble. While Cimm's father was summoned to work out the details (and/or kill them) the rest of the party escaped to the Fox in Flames, where they were given free food and drink as long as they drew customers by telling their story. Kijji had some good stories to tell... they were even partly true.

They were approached by a mysterious gentleman who gave them a note to read. The contents were supposed to be secret, but that wasn't revealed until halfway through, by which point Kijji and Wonko had already made quite a lot of fuss. Oops. The bar was full of fellow adventurers, though, so it was probably okay.

Wonko told them that the mysterious gentleman was a servant of his brother Brunotirip, who had sent the letter, so it was probably not a trap. So they met for dinner at Brunotirip's house, as requested, and were asked to escort the servant, Tyvik, to a meeting with a member of the conspiracy at a seedy bar. Since a 'master thief', Slythery-something, had also been invited, it was likely that this was meant to be only the first part of the assignment.

Wonkotirip and Cimmaronovia insisted on going along, because they might be needed... even though as members (or soon-to-be-members) of the family the conspiracy was targetting they'd be in extra danger. It was worked out that they'd go in disguise as Cani, using the spell 'cloak of another god'.

I was distracted for far too long in the middle of the game programming in MUF to fix the die roller to handle stress dice. I need to not do that.
