Death stalks the laundry
Jan. 9th, 2003 09:46 amBecause, last time I washed my clothes, the dryer failed to work properly, some of my theoretically clean clothes have been sitting in a pile slightly damp for the last couple weeks. I thought I'd aired out all the clothes that were really wet, but I missed a few. And now they have mold growing on them.
I'd noticed they smelled weird yesterday, but I thought it was just from being slightly damp and that airing them out (by wearing them) would fix it. But the shirt I wanted to wear today had visible gray patches and a really strong, noxious odor.
So, basically, I'll have to toss about half my clothes, including some of my favorite shirts, before they infect the other half and I have to go naked. Plus, I feel sort of dizzy and short of breath after sniffing a dozen shirts for signs of mold-stench. @.@
