Tonight was Lazar's Friday game... Lazar was a bit out of it, but we managed to set off the apocalypse as scheduled. Then we took a vacation.

Marten, who'd been snatched from the party's van and put in a bottle, managed to break free, but was quickly bottled again without his stuff. The culprit (a drakivolki he could see through the glass of the bottle) spoke to him and berated him for messing everything up, since he (the drakivolki) was just trying to save his life. Then he let Marten watch on a magic mirror as:

NKN, Vorshath and Nazir were having a bad time. Vorshath was killed, but Geneviere (the psychic and former save point) brought him back to life. Then, as per Vorshath's instructions, NKN killed Nazir. [ed note: this was done before I arrived, so I don't know any of the details of this part, or where the hell Geneviere came from. I arrived as:]

Then the van was nuked, killing Vorshath again, and Geneviere brought Nazir back to life. Then Nazir (who'd been a natural shape changer the whole time, but had only rarely used his power) shaped himself into a giant pair of wings to carry NKN and Geneviere around as they summoned the battleship.

Marten, seeing the battleship summoned and not having his things with him in the bottle, told his captor that he was needed to shoot some caster shells at whatever was in the building after the battleship cannon fired, and that since he was NO LONGER WEARING HIS STUFF if might be best to put him in place ahead of time so he could re-arm. The drakivolki agreed, and put him on the shore of the island.

NKN tried to get cute and aimed the battleship so that the kickback would send it shooting back into the mass of dragons pursuing them... it managed to hit Lixia, the leader of (some of) the dragons, but she was unhurt and it was destroyed. The one shot did its job, though, and the massive pyramid building known as the 'source of magic' was destroyed.

Meanwhile, Marten had gotten his most important equipment back on, and had the caster ready. He fired several shots at the floating, glowing globe revealed where the building had been, and it started to unravel... he also fired a shot at a foolish red dragon that tried to strafe him. The dragon unraveled. It wasn't pretty.

With Lixia and a hundred other dragons now bearing down on him from all directions, Marten fired one last shot, and success! The glowy ball dissipated. Instantly, magic stopped working.

Well, not all magic. But Marten's 'cloud-vaulting' item that he'd been planning to use to escape the dragons failed. Fortunately, so did the dragons' natural magic that allowed them to fly with disproportionately tiny wings. Unfortunately, Lixia managed to use magic to grow her wings large enough to keep flying. Fortunately, Nazir swooped down and scooped up Marten (and his briefcase, but not the other items scattered around) just in the nick of time, and then -- they were swished away to elsewhere, as Geneviere (who was, after all, a psychic) had predicted when directing Nazir's flight path, as that section of ocean merged with a random spot on Earth.

They were surrounded by brightly colored greys -- 'real people', as opposed to everything on Earth and Ur (except for things, like NKN, which were 'Prime' aka 'Impervious to Technology'.) Geneviere told the party that it would take two weeks for the merge to complete, then led them through a burger king to Mexico City. It was all very confusing.

So, they decided to go to Cancun and sit around on the beach and drink Mai Tais, since the dragons, if they were in any shape at all to take revenge, would be able to find them anywhere on either world.

On the way, a Mountain suddenly appeared in their path, and the road disappeared, replaced with a dirt track. This freaked out the cabby they'd bribed to drive them (since Nazir's van had been nuked), so Marten explained that this was the apocalypse, and that they were heading to Cancun to spend the last two weeks before the end of the world partying. The driver decided that that sounded like a good idea... as long as the party was buying the drinks. Since Marten alone had 500,000 credits on credchips in his briefcase (not to mention a similar amount in the bank, and the funds available to NKN and Nazir), buying drinks for total strangers was not a problem.

Upon arrival in Cancun, they discovered that it had been replaced with Deningrad, a major industrial city from Ur. Of course, the entire population of both cities was present, but it was still a beach, and they still served alcohol and took credit chips, so this was NOT A PROBLEM. The taxi mysteriously disappearing as soon as the party (and the cabbie) got out was NOT A PROBLEM.

Or at least, that's what they're trying to tell themselves.

last week next session (different campaign)

After the game we had a lot of time, since the GM cut the session short claiming GM burnout, so we watched Krull and MSTed the hell out of it.
