Well, I didn't get fired today. From what management said, it was basically a high-level carpet bombing picking people off at random without the input of anyone who'd ever worked with the people involved. I think their exact words were 'presumably, performance evaluations figured into it somehow.' Yeah, that's the best way to do it. From a legal standpoint, according to management.
I wouldn't be totally screwed if I do get fired in the next round, whenever that happens. It would be really annoying, though.
