It's just gravy
Jan. 22nd, 2008 11:27 amSome microwaveable frozen dinner I bought over the weekend came with a 'free packet of gravy mix -- just add water!' It seemed an odd way to phrase 'this meal has gravy' to me, but as I suspected that was because the mix wasn't microwaveable at all -- you were supposed to use a saucepan, and measuring cups, and all sorts of things I don't have.
So I decided to just microwave it instead. I've had a lot of luck with microwaving stuff that's supposed to be baked -- the only real failure was fishsticks. It turns out that unlike most frozen foods, they weren't precooked and needing to be reheated.
Oh, and gravy. The gravy failed miserably. Basically, instead of turning into gravy, it just sort of got hot.
So I used horseradish instead of gravy on the chicken fried steak, and made my eyes water while chibi-ing it up on City of Villains. ;.;
