I11 is coming wednesday morning, but it's not out yet, so between teaming with rowyn and koogr and company (nightbreak and... is omega 'trask'?) in CoH and CoV I've been mostly soloing in Tabula Rasa. I completed the wilderness ToO quest with both my soldier and specialist (although I brought the soldier back to get the defense tokens for the specialist, since it's all about doing lots of damage fast there) and now I have a Commando, Ranger, Sapper, and Biotechnician all with an extra clone for a respec at 50 or whenever. I could have done this without slogging through the ToO if I'd read the forums before making level 5... ah, well.

Anyways, the classes:
Commando: Graviton armor is really good. Launchers are really bad. Scourge is a worse version of shrapnel from the previous tier. Rushing Blow is really bad. Force Blast is a worse version of the pump-1 lightning everyone's forced to take at level 1 -- less damage AND more power AND it costs adrenaline, W. T. F. So the commando is basically a rage+machine gun dude, just like the soldier, only with better armor.

Ranger: Stealth armor isn't as good as graviton. Net guns do crap damage but the immobilize effect is nice, especially since it keeps enemies from turning -- and they can't really fire at you while you're behind them. The airstrike power has a wide AoE but I haven't played with it much, and I don't have the summon logos yet to try out reinforcements, but I've heard the medic at pump 3 is nice.

Biotechnician: This is where the original specialist character went, because I suspected injector guns would suck. And oh, do they suck. At least, the virulent ones -- virulent doesn't damage armor, but it only penetrates it 25%. So you'd think 'okay, it's good for the big tough enemies witohut armor, like Xanx and Amoeboids'. Except that they're immune to virulent. It's good against warnets. Just warnets. Everything else still has to get leeched or shot with a pistol or something. Luckily, the class *does* have an answer to Xanx and Amoeboids -- 'frighten'. It's a small aoe radius 10-second fear. 10 seconds is long enough to run far enough in the other direction that they won't find you again.

Sapper: Polarity guns are love. MY GOD. They do about twice as much damage as machine guns... and every two seconds you can release a sudden burst of damage equal to what you did in the last two seconds. Sappers make commandos look like chumps. Well, except for the armor. They make rangers look like chumps. Their other powers are kind of meh, though -- the shield extender doesn't last long enough and is way too expensive to keep active, and the crab mines don't do much damage. Haven't tried Hack yet, I'm hoping it works on turrets.

Supposedly, they're horribly nerfing Rage thursday, which'll cripple the two soldier characters (the commando and ranger). Reports on that are sketchy and contradictory, though, so I guess we'll see.
