Okay, so I'd planned to play Second Life as soon as I got a broadband connection, but then I kept hearing about how much it sucked now with Linden changing all the rules to screw basic users etc. etc.
But I also heard it was free, so tonight I finally decided I might as well give it a try.
They had six selections of initial avatar, I picked the 'furry' one because, DUH. In game, it was really ugly. The game and the avatar both. I remember someone saying there were some decent options in the 'library' but all the library had in it were the same six avatars that it offered at the login screen.
Oh, and I was in a big flat empty plain with floating billboards in brazillian, with a window sloooowly drawing in with a 'I speak english' button that never managed to rez in enough to be clicked. The map was flat blue. There were no options on the 'teleport to X' dropdown, and searching for locations by name (the ones I'd seen Tarka mention) gave no results.
Trying to close the map, I accidentally logged out of the game, and I have absolutely no desire to ever go back in. Ugh. x.x
