Nothing to talk about, except games...

NWN2: Progressed a little further, long enough to have a party reorganization forced on me, after a weird episode involving a bunch of high-powered Demons and Devils and a sort-of-misunderstanding.
That is, you're chasing the king of shadows and doing all this crap -- with the shards, and the ritual -- to try to be able to defeat him, because he attacked your home, killed a bunch of your friends, then followed you to the city and killed more people, and keeps summoning all these demons and devils...
...and you finally confront him in his home, and break his power by freeing the demons and devils, only to find out that that WASN'T the king of shadows after all. It was a man using 'any means necessary' to fight against the king of shadows. So it's all kiss and make up, and join forces.
Except, wait a minute -- if he's not the king of shadows, then the king of shadows never attacked your village and killed your family. It was him, and the githyanki, who he was fighting but who were also against the king of shadows. The king of shadows also didn't murder all those people in Neverwinter, it was him. The king of shadows didn't summon up all the damn devils and demons, it was him.
Earlier, you found out that the shadow-priest crap was a power play by Luskan, not the king of shadows, but you already made sort-of-peace with Luskan in the interest of tracking down this king of shadows, who you now know was created to be the guardian of Illefarn which is the old name for the Sword Coast, was 'corrupted by shadow' but (according to one of the ghosts you met as part of the ritual) never lost sight of his mission, and HAS NEVER DONE ANYTHING TO YOU EVER.
What the hell is going on here?
I8 rolled out Tuesday for CoX... I played a little bit but not all that much. I tried out the wings on Risky Raven, and decided that they look really stupid when you're not flying... so I put them on one costume that was a copy of his main costume which uses a feather cape, and when I drop fly I switch costumes to 'collapse' them into a cape. I can set up binds to do that automatically, I guess... the 'switch between hover and fly' and 'drop to the ground' binds are becoming standard on my flying characters, after all, and I can add costume change commands to them. Although that'll make it hard to have any costumes other than those.
I tried out a few police-band missions, and almost panicked during a bank robbery when the vault door proved un-attackable... until I realized that since I was *preventing* the robbery I probably didn't *want* to destroy the vault door. Oops.
On the cold front, well, it's still cold, but hasn't snowed more, but unfortunately it's supposed to snow more tonight. Work is still deserted. And I'm not as sick as I was (no more sleepless nights shivering, at least) but I'm still all sniffly and somewhat floaty.
