My sister invited me over to her place for Thanksgiving again, but wasn't sure if they were going to have it on Thursday or Friday, because of... something at Alex's work. I called them up around 1pm (this wasn't my first try, but it was my first try at the correct number) and she told me that I'd better have some lunch, because they were running behind schedule and probably wouldn't have the turkey ready until 6pm.

"You can come over any time you want though, it depends on how much you like us." So I had some lunch, took a nap, watched some TV, and headed over around 4pm. Where I found out that they were behind schedule on their revised schedule... for a good reason, though -- Stevie was sick, vomiting, and Anna had apparently caught it from him because she had a cold and a fever.

I tried to help, where I could, but that wasn't much because their kitchen is *really small* and it was mostly 'waiting for the turkey to cook' that was the big delay. At any rate, the food still wasn't ready when it was as late as Anna was willing to put off the kids' meals, so they got some microwaved food and the promise of thanksgiving dinner for lunch the next day, and were put to bed...

Thne Stevie threw up in the bathroom sink, clogging it. Alex added some Drano to unclog it, and then we sat down to eat. It was about 8pm.

The dinner wasn't bad -- the standard turkey+cranberry sauce+stuffing+mashed potatoes, with some green beans as the vegetable. Usually I hate them, but these were okay; Anna'd cooked them with lemon juice and almonds. It was only AFTER the meal that Alex remembered he had to flush out the drain he'd poured the drano in, though... and apparently it was either too late or the drain was too clogged for drano to work, because...

Alex: "We no longer have a bathroom sink. We have an acidic cesspool."
Anna: "Maybe we could at least empty it out into the toilet?"
Me: "Do not siphon by mouth."

After that, no one really wanted to eat dessert. We played some Guitar Hero 2, and... well, I headed home, with a whole pie in lieu of a more diverse selection of leftovers, that would have taken effort to package. Effort which no one was in the right state of mind to exert.

Gaaaah, I feel kind of sorry for their holiday being so sucky... it wasn't bad for *me* of course because the bad things weren't happening to me. q:3
