Friday I had a session of the Shadake game. They rescued Bella, then everybody got captured, possibly on purpose.
Grey was ordered to subdue Bella and render her unconscious so that she could be brought in for processing. He tried to do this by having the wolverine guarding her attack, but she turned herself into a balloon and floated up out of reach. He had his remaining birds (this was still before the others had time to recover from the drugs) try to pursue her, but she was able to defend herself from their lightning bolts by firing off decoys, absorbing them, and finally by just healing the damage every time they hurt her. Eventually, he got the idea of having them use a 'stun' bolt, and they knocked her out.
This was about a dozen lightning bolts into the fight, though, and the lightning was clearly visible from the city. So before the birds could drag her off for 'processing', Zedd teleported up and snatched her back to the city.
The sudden appearance of a plant-balloon in the city sparked a certain amount of curiosity and a certain amount of police response -- the Animal Control Squad arrested them all and put them in quarantine.
While they were cooling their heels in a room gassed full of some sort of antimagic fog, a reporter claiming to be their lawyer visited them and, after getting the guards to leave on the pretense of attorney-client privilege, interviewed them for his tabloid. Then he promised to get them out, as he had a lawyer on call who was talking him through the whole thing.
A couple hours later, they were released, and led to a black, unmarked limousine with tinted windows. They got in, only to find that the doors wouldn't open again, no one responded to the intercom, and the fridge was completely empty. Still not sure that they were actually in trouble, they decided to see where the limo was taking them.
The limo took them to an ambush -- four Carnival dogs, 8 guards, and four hazmat-suited people... suited up to resist the knockout gas they were dosed with. Den shook it off, though, and Bella was immune... it did put Zed out at least. Bella, terrified of being killed, decided to play dead. Den couldn't get any spells off past all four dogs, so he decided to cause a lot of trouble and give Bella time to keep trying... eventually, just after Den was finally injected with enough drugs to knock him out (this took a LOT of drugs) she succeeded in using her magic, to play dead more effectively.
So they were all carted off through a gate to a hospital type room in a suspicious looking office building somewhere in the London area (most likely), where they were hooked up to IVs meant to keep them unconscious... except that Bella wasn't unconscious, and unhooked them all.
Meanwhile, Grey was being punished for his failure elsewhere in the complex... will they ever find out about that or decide to try to rescue him? Only time will tell... history suggests 'no'.
