Last night after work, I went out to the mall to buy a present for my sister's kid's birthday this weekend, and also to pick up Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Managed to accomplish both of those... I got him a remote-controlled bee. The batteries were more expensive (from the toy store) than the thing itself, but I had some lying around the house so I'll just use those instead.

Anyway, I was thinking about getting a DS, but from playing around with the demo machine, I decided that (a) the stylus was annoying and scratched the screen up beyond all reason, (b) the dual screens were a kind of lame gimmick, and (c) even the 'lite' version is fucking huge. So, I just picked up Red Rescue Team for the GBA.

I'd looked at the list of pokemon you could end up as on GameFAQs before this, and basically thought 'well, they don't have any of the ones I really want, but it'll be okay as long as I don't get psyduck'. So, yeah, I got psyduck. Psy-ai-ai!

Otherwise, the game seems pretty neat, although I wish they'd give you more time to do posted rescues between story missions. I imagine that'll open up a bit later on.

In other news, radish leaves may or may not be edible fresh, but they start to stink horribly and get really slimy if you leave them out overnight. The radishes themselves were okay, although after eating them all I was thoroughly sick of produce. So, no salad for me today. Not that I'd have gotten one anyway.

There's also some annoying construction at work -- 148th is down to one lane right in front of my building, which leaves me with no good route to get there, sicne the nexus of traffic jam is right at my destination. I got trapped in the intersection today after turning left around some people gridlocking into what looked like an open right lane... it wasn't as open as it looked. I guess I'll have to try coming up 140th to 40th and then sneaking in through the backroads?
