I know I swore of TFs, but...
Feb. 17th, 2006 12:57 amJust after I logged on, someone invited me to do the sharkshead one, and I figured 'why not?' When he told be I'd be autoexemplared down to 28 for it... eh, I decided to go ahead with it anyway. CoV TFs sounded pretty cool, with unique maps and things to make it more like the Synapse TF (that I ran once, far too late at night) and less like the Positron TF (which I ran three times, god only knows why). Hopefully, even less like the Positron TF than the Synapse TF, which was still pretty long and boring.
And it was. After a whining, constantly dying dominator quit the group unceremoniously after the first mission, we were down to four, one of which had invis and teleport, and kept teleporting us to the end of the mission to make it go quickly. The stalker did not have teleport, but he did have a suicidal need to solo the missions if he could help it. In one mission, it got him killed three times. In another... it got the rest of us killed when his overzealous Glowy theft spawned a bunch of ambushes that included three bosses and an Archvillain. On top of us. While we were fighting another group.
But eventually, we got to the end of our long quest: The Eye of the Leviathan! We were supposed to steal it for Arachnos. I'm not sure how we were supposed to carry it. At any rate, it was guarded by Calystix, another Archvillain. The group's unwillingness to clear away the enemies in the room made finishing him off really hard, but on the second try (after a wipe brought on by one of the mastermind's pets using Torrent and waking up one of the spawns they'd decided we didn't need to clear ahead of time) we finished him off. Yay! We win!
Not quite.
Not by a long shot.
But, two hours and about five deaths later, we did finish it after all... geez. My take on the whole thing: "At least I hate this TF because it's unfair and keeps spawning Archvillains on top of us, and not because it's long and boring."
Response: "You ran Positron a lot, didn't you?"
