Aaanyway, after the annoyance with CoV, I decided to go get an assortment of hard liquor and get really drunk. Un/Fortunately, the nearest liquor store was closed -- apparently they keep bank hours. I hadn't paid attention to where any of the others were, since that one was so close to my apartment... and besides, what I really had a craving for was cheese.

But I didn't get cheese. I managed to get back home without buying anything, and watched Inu Yasha and Lost, then played through Gitaroo Man, because it really is a lot of fun to play every once in a while. And it's pretty easy, on the default difficulty.

Spent the last hour or so before bed working on a story, although I didn't exactly make progress -- I deleted the last half of the chapter I was working on and rewrote it entirely.

I had a succession of nightmares that night, in bed... in the main one I was a harried college girl home with family for the holidays. Initially, the stress was all about not getting along with family members, but then an evil supervillain with the ability to merge with the floor and devour people (by literally eating their brain) and then replace them started picking off my family one by one. I knew he was in the area, but didn't realize he was going after my family until it was too late for about half my relatives (I had a lot more relatives in the dream than I do in real life, or at least a lot more relatives who would all be living in the same house).

But I, myself, was a superhero(ine) with power over time and space, so I destroyed all the space around the villain, making it impossible for him to touch anything ever again. He didn't believe me when I told him what I'd done, so I dared him to eat someone, and sure enough, he couldn't. Then I called the cops.

As they were taking the villain away, he gloated that I'd been too late, and that he'd already eaten my mother and father and best friend, which was true. So I beat him to death with a metal pipe.

The other nightmares were less complex, involving things like 'cleaning up after farm animals' and 'getting a massage'.
