terryclothTonight was Tom's RttToEE game, wherein the party attempted to retreat and regroup for a few days. Depite being pestered by evil, the attempt was a qualified success, with only one casualty.
The party retreated to the nearby town of Raster, the plan being to spend three days in the town to let the party's mages scribe two critical spells: See Invisibility and Rope Trick.
During the first day there, Mepechu offered to use her domain spell of Teleport to return to Veluna to sell extra items, buy any items needed, and convert the gold weighing the party down to gems. This would take two days, as she could only cast Teleport once per day. It was decided that she would do this on the second and third days planned to be spent in the town, taking Guinsette and... er... the little halfling cleric/thief with her.
But the first day was spent mostly uneventfully: Mepechu found a large (4HD) wolverine to be a new companion along with her (5HD) wolf Piko, naming him Muyo, as she didn't really *need* another companion. Darien and Marcus began scribing spells. Guinsette and Thanos sparred with each other (Guinsette won). Belle and Xaod returned the dwarven relics that didn't seem very valuable to the dwarven temple in town.
Tenaris, a low-level elven fighter that had somehow survived several battles with the party, was asked to take her share of the treasure and leave before she got hurt (and drained any more of the party's XP), but refused, as she had nowhere else to go and still wanted vengeance.
On the second day, Mepechu, Guinsette, and whats-his-name teleported to Veluna, and began shopping. It was a large, prosperous city, but not everything they wanted was available, so since they couldn't return until the next day anyway they decided they'd give it another try tomorrow and then buy everything they could afford that they'd been able to find.
Meanwhile, however, things in Raster did not go so well. The high priest of the evil temple had followed the party to Raster, along with his assassins. After their attempts at murder failed, they and the party sat down to a civilized dinner and threatened each other, and made vague attempts to bargain which failed because the two sides had no mutually acceptable position to agree on as a compromise. The closest thing to a deal was an offer of safe passage in return for the soul of one of the party's fighters. Thanos offered Tenaris. The evil priest sneered and rejected her. Tenaris felt extremely insulted, but still refused to leave.
In the morning, the evil priest made a few more threats and left. Bella sent a message to Mepechu informing her of what had happened and asking her to hurry back, and to bring a scroll of Teleport so that Marcus' girl friend in Raster could escape the priests' vengeance.
So Mepechu and company finished their shopping, purchasing many expensive items and using up all their money. As the last of the treasure was spent, what's-his-name the cleric/thief cast 'invisibility' and ran away, taking the party's bag of holding with him, but leaving everything else that wasn't his in the hopes of not inspiring the rest of the party to kill him.
Mepechu turned herself into a wolverine and followed his trail by scent, planning to attempt to negotiate the bag's safe return if she could catch up.

So basically, the whole day was spent shopping. Boring, boring, but necessary, since trying to do this stuff in e-mail never works. Although the negotiation between the players is supposed to be done in e-mail, which may be difficult as the others in the game only know my work e-mail, which I wasn't planning on checking this week. Maybe I *will* go in Tuesday.
