Well... kinda.

Last night, I was packing for a trip to Ohio, but wondering if Anna was actually going to give me a ride to the airport. She'd said that she would, but hadn't returned my e-mail or phone calls about it, and it was getting pretty late.

Then, Alex called. Apparently, Anna's pregnant again. Apparently, she was pregnant the last time mom was here to visit, but didn't tell anyone (although in retrospect she was giving out some pretty big hints; I interpreted them as 'I'm planning to get pregnant again soon' at the time). Apparently, she might not be pregnant much longer -- there's some potential trouble with the baby that might require 'terminating' the pregnancy, although they're doing more tests to see if the problem actually exists. At the time, the chance was 1 in 25; since then it's dropped, but not enough to make them stop doing tests.

The upshot was that she wasn't sure she'd be able to come on the trip, and was certainly not going to give me a ride. But it sounded like she'd be coming only a few days later, at the time, so I went ahead with the trip...

At 10pm they woke me up telling me that they'd cancelled their flight and weren't coming at all -- supposedly Northwest doesn't let you slightly alter a flight -- you have to cancel and reschedule, paying for a new ticket with the old ticket price as credit (-$100 alteration fee), complete with the 1 month delay to get a good price. So basically, they weren't going.

But I wasn't about to cancel my trip. I'd already gone to all the *trouble* and I'd have to do it all again if I rescheduled... not to mention that I'd be worthless at work for the next two weeks after expecting a vacation and not having it happen... so I went ahead with it anyway.

The flight went really smoothly. Too smoothly, considering that I'd left a half hour for parking and two horus for security, and used up maybe a half hour between them. I had some breakfast at an airport restaurant, since flights don't have meals anymore... but mostly just sort of slouched around listening to music.

So... I'm here in Toledo, but Anna's not here, so I guess I won't be spending time with her and her friends and all, although I can see mom and Bob. I've already been thoroughly licked by Honey (their dog) and spend looots of time watching stuff on a big screen TV.

Ah, well. A vacation's a vacation, anyway.
