Worst TF Ever

...but aren't they all?
After yet another sadly under-attended story circle, I decided to play some city of heroes to enjoy my controller while it still worked right. I was quickly invited to join a task force team.
Me: "I've only got three hours, how long will this TF take?"
Atom Smasher: "Couple hours."
Then, after inviting me, he went AFK for about a half hour. Just as I was giving up and running off to solo some street-hunting missions while waiting, he said 'back', and as I made it back to the TF starter, went AFK again. Then his friend quit the team to get another character. Our tank gave up in disgust and logged off, but the friend's new character was a tank, so, okay.
Eventaully, we started the task force -- Citadel's, which means lots of council. Council has mezzing vampires and grenade-launching minions, each of which nearly killed me a few times as it *also* has a high percentage (100%) of ranged enemies, which are hard to trap in an earthquake or gas field when the rest of the team (three scrappers and a warshade, to go with me and a defender who only heals) is scattering all over the room pursuing various targets. I actually did die once, when after I got held by a vampire, my anchor ran off into a previously unseen group, who rushed out onto a balcony (safely out of range of my earthquake et al) and launched a volley of grenades at me...
But, overall, we were tearing through the enemies, even though Atom Smasher and his tank friend were AFK by the mission door the whole time. Despite their mooching, they were awake enough to leave the mission to go get the second one in the TF, which went about the same way -- Atom said he wanted to stealth through it to kill the boss, but it was 'kill boss and click five glowies' on a small map, so there was no point. So instead, he went AFK by the door with his tank friend and let us complete the mission for him, then...
Then waited AFK by the door for another ten minutes while all of us danced around Citadel and threatened to quit. The warshade actually did quit, but Atom finally woke up just before everyone else left.
This whole time, one of the scrappers was talking constantly, pestering us about 'r u girl' and 'r u old' and 'r u married' and screaming 'GRRRRRRRRRR!' about something or other that we could never get her to articulate, eventually revealing that she was 12. Looking at the chat window made my head throb. x.x
In the third mission, we *could* stealth through, so I reluctantly let Atom invis me so that I could superspeed through the mission to find the boss, even though I thought it was suicide. He came with me to re-invis, at least, which we needed to do twice -- meanwhile, the rest of the team hadn't noticed the five minute argument over the tactic and kept trying to teleport us back to where they were getting their butts kicked. Well, not really -- scrappers backed up by an empath is a decent combo, even if the tank was again AFK, or at least his end and health never went down. They did keep trying to teleport us back, though.
Eventually Atom spotted the boss in the huge four-level room with pools, that this time made up about a third of the mission map. Ugh. Instead of teleporting everyone to the deserted corridor outside, he had me stealth in to the depths of the room and teleport everyone there. So of course, as soon as the first non-stealthed person arrived, enemies he hadn't seen woke up and attacked, just like the LAST three times people have tried the whole 'stealth and teleport' tactic.
This time, though, the enemies were weak enough that we managed to get everyone in and fighting, but then the server crashed or something -- I was kicked off and couldn't log back on, although my network connection was otherwise fine.
Since it'd already been two hours and we were on mission three out of what, ten? I'm not too unhappy that the task force was so *tragically* cut short.
I ended up getting one bubble from those two hours, which is slower than even my controller gets solo. Pathetic.
