terryclothWe had a 'Scadventure' morale event instead of most of the day's work. After eating lunch at an excessively cramped mexican place (with an equally cramped parking lot), we headed over to the Woodland Park Zoo where we were split into teams, given digital cameras, and told to take pictures of various illegal activities and/or animals.
Someone on our team lost the rule sheet -- I was blamed, because my map got eaten by goats, but I never had it, it had already been lost by then. As a result, we didn't know about all the extra rules that the guy hadn't gone over verbally because I *guess* they were supposed to be 'common sense'. So we saw the blurb at the bottom where extra points would be given for 'creativity', and started creatively coming up with ways to use our quota of 30 pictures to satisfy as many of the 180 possible questions as we could -- which, we found out at the end when we were able to see one of the other teams' rule sheets, was explicitly forbidden.
So we lost, *bad*.
We also, like in the last scavenger hunt, suffered from PM-itis, where some program managers were somehow included in the event and found their way onto our team, where they decided to take over and boss everyone around and waste all our time on 'organization' and meetings.
The high point was when we were told by one of the secret agents we'd had to find to come up with a cheer for 'Butterflies', and we decided to circle around her bouncing up and down and waving our arms like flapping wings, doing a butterfly chant in high squeaky voices... she really loved it, and asked us to do it again in front of everyone.
And the rest of the team *refused*, suddenly too embarassed. Sigh.
Right now I'm back at work... I have the star wars game after work, so I couldn't just go home after the zoo like everyone else. And Jeff e-mailed to say he'd be an hour late...
