I wanted to test the new respec in a group, and maybe make 24, so I logged on to CoH this morning. Got invited to a pick up group instantly. It got filled up to be a full group of 8... I should have quit then. Note to self: Group of 8 == death for blasters. Especially a group of 8 doing a mission set on invincible with earth and illusion control against sky raiders. Especially a group full of *blasters* whose leader tells the controllers to focus on *heals*. No! That is wrong! Tanks and scrappers need heals! Blasters need actual control!
But then, one controller was earth with salt crystals and earthquake (I went that way too, but salt crystals is useless with fire tanks and blasters, and earthquake doesn't help much against sky raiders because they fly), the other was illusion with phantom army (not perma) and deceive. Both /empathy. /Empathy is so useless, I hate it.
Ended up getting about 20,000 debt and 12,000 xp, so I'm further from 24 than ever. The only upside is that when I quit, we were only about halfway through the timed mission with about 20 minutes left out of 90, so they're definately going to fail it. Serves them right.
But man, it's going to take me a long time to work off that debt. Well, about an hour and a half solo.
Oh, and I'm pretty sure the respec was a mistake. Hasten isn't helping much at all (it's technically up most of the time, but it always seems to be down when I need it), and I had to give up having a second single-target attack to get it. Should have waited until I had the money to get perma-hasten. Or at *least* until 24, when I could have taken a second single-target attack.
