terryclothAfter spending the morning playing City of Heroes (mostly soloing with a scrapper, so that I can actually get through a few story arcs), I went to the Southcenter gathering, where I spent most of the time not playing magic. This was something that had to be actively pursued, of course...
Eventually, I played a few games, but my decks, which I haven't touched in months, weren't really competitive anymore -- everyone's bought or traded for all the tournament cards like Sloggers and Death Clouds and Solumn Simulacrums... although whenever I play my very same decks online I do just fine against all those, so I don't really get it. Maybe I just got a bad draw, or they got a good draw, or something.
At any rate, it was't a big part of the day. Everyone headed over to Legend's NEW new new place, which is in the exact middle of the vast suburban wasteland that you get if you wander slightly off course while heading towards Tacoma. We followed Slox there, which involved quite a bit of dangerous running-red-lights, last second turn changes, cutting people off, and darting across lanes of oncoming traffic.
Once there, we watched a bunch of movies... Legend really loves his home theater, and it's a pretty sweet setup. We saw Shaolin Soccer (I convinced them to show the english dubbed version instead of subtitled, by whining pitifully) and Kung Fu Hustle (which only had subtitles), which were both really funny, although KFH made me a little drowsy near the beginning, and SS made me cringe a bit at the love scenes (KFH's love scenes were better).
I agreed to take Ravyn home, because she said she lived really nearby, and everyone was all 'oh, whenever you want to leave is fine...' About the time I was ready to go home, though, Legend put on A Series of Unfortunate Events, which Ravyn really wanted to see, so I stayed for it... meaning we got her home only slightly before 1am. And since her home was in the opposite direction as I wanted to go (literally, I had to pass back by Legend's house on the way home) I didn't get home until 1:30. So I just went to sleep.
Still, it was pretty fun, and I got to cuddle with people and stuff.
