Apr. 20th, 2005 12:03 pm"This is too easy! I almost feel bad for them, it's like killing kittens!" said Uber Healer, the empathy defender (as if you couldn't guess from the name), dancing in and out among the swarm of enemies, who struggled to chase her around or, for that matter, keep their feet.
"It's my revenge," I replied, as I laid down what was becoming my standard set of debuffs for the mission on another group of enemies, "For not giving me a mass hold until 26th. They will suffer, oh how they will suffer."
"Gee, Blaze, maybe you should unSK," Uber said.
"That makes them red and purple..."
"Don't worry, I'm watching out for you!"
"Yeah, if the healer can tank them, you can probably do it unSK'd," I said. So he did.
Many groups later, Uber was getting a little too cocky, and ran into the next group -- one of the few groups with bosses, at that -- without waiting for the rest of us to finish with the group we were on. Before I could even lay down an earthquake (I do Quake first, because it has a rediculously long animation) she was dead. Blaze was right behind her, carefully herding the enemies out of the area of effect just as it went off (to be fair, how was he supposed to know where it'd show up?) so that he could stand next to her corpse, and followed her into death a few seconds later.
"Run!" the healer shouted from beyond the grave. But the enemies were white and blue and yellow, and I don't usually run against yellows unless I'm actually taking damage.
I didn't take any damage for a while. To get to me they had to come back into the earthquake, and I slowed and enervated them when they did, then basically just kept punching them, one by one, until they were all gone except for one of the bosses, reapplying debuffs and healing as necessary. (with some help from the blaster of the group, who kept having to run away when he got aggro, but put out a lot more damage when he was present) (and about six inspirations, mostly catch-a-breath)
At that point the healer 'awakened' and rezzed the tank, and they watched me sloooowly punch the boss to death.
They let me lead off the battles for the rest of the mission.
That makes up for the previous group of the night, where we kept going up against monsters the scrapper could have solo'd, so the only thing I added was holds on sorcs and ancestor spirits to make them less annoying.
Names have been changed because I don't really remember them.
