terryclothOnce again, I spent ALL THURSDAY (after work) playing City of Heroes. During work, I was merely reading city of heroes websites... just kidding. I mean, I'm not kidding that I read the sites at work, I'm kidding that I spent all day doing it. I need to stop doing it anyway, because they (game site messageboards in general, really) aren't very good at anything except wasting time.
I met up with Lazar's (very cute little) scrapper, and did a mission or two... not sure if he actually likes the game. Objectively, I can certainly understand anyone who found it boring and/or pointless. Although it's nothing compared to EQ. O.O
He logged off pretty early, though, and I went on Victory and made a controller, as it's an archetype I hadn't done yet, and I was still traumatized by Tom's powerlevelling run Wednesday (let's just say it didn't go so well, and left me with a huge headache).
Controllers can't solo. At least, Earth controllers can't solo. I picked earth because it seemed the most controlly, and made a teeny tiny brown-and-pink naked-looking chick with horns who's supposed to be some kind of extradimensional entity... then messed up on the face and got the color mismatched. Sigh.
So after playing in a sequence of pick-up groups (successfully, for the most part... although I mostly ended up grouped with other controllers -- because who else would bother at levels 2-6? -- I got to see a couple controller builds that *could* solo: mind control and illusion control) I took 'Flurry' over 'Hasten' to make soloing *possible*. Although still not advisable.
Besides, I'm quite able to use up all my endurance on my own without hasten's help, tank you very much. Plan is to take it at 22 or 24, once I have Endurance and access to SOs.
This is probably my second favorite character to play, after the blaster.
