Stupid Easter.
After playing a little City of Heroes, I decided that since the D+D game I'd normally have was cancelled, because of Easter, I'd go to the north splinter gathering instead of the one at Southcenter. I didn't know where the Everett Mall was, but I figured I could find it online.
This was... sort of true. The mall had a website, which had directions on it. Incorrect directions. That sent me in a huge circle for about a half hour... so that I didn't get up there until 2, when I discovered that the mall was closed, presumably for Easter.
What the hell? People get off work for *Easter*? It's such a minor holiday... I mean, I could understand Tom cancelling since he has three kids and they want to go hunt eggs, but sheesh.
I wasn't the only one surprised -- in fact, despite the fact that the entire mall was closed, the parking lot was full of people coming in, seeing that it was closed, and leaving in confusion.
All the restaurants and fast food places I tried to go get lunch at were also closed, but Safeway was open, at least.
Now, I'm pretty sure this didn't happen last year -- I usually remember getting locked out of malls and restaurants. So why the sudden upsurge in popularity?
