Sometimes, people leave the extra food left over after meetings in the kitchen, for anyone to wander by and snack on. No sense throwing it away, right? And since no one actually said that you could take it, you have no one to blame if you end up getting botulism or something from old lunchmeat or mayonaisse...
Anyway, yesterday there was a box of 'grapples' there, that were advertised as apples that tasted like grapes. So I had one.
Now, it didn't taste bad -- apples are good. But it was an apple. It tasted just like a slightly sour apple, like you'd expect a half-green apple to taste. The only grape-like thing about it was that the juice that ended up staining my fingers smelled like really bad fake grape flavoring. I can still smell it now -- it won't come off! Out, out damned spot!
