You find a bug that you want me to fix right NOW. Fine. It's an acceptance test failure, and a pretty important one. Sure, it's been around for a month, but okay, I'll fix it NOW.

There, forty minutes later I've quicktested everything and checked in the change, twenty minutes before the daily builds start. "It should be in today's build, whenever that comes out." Fixed Rev is 040730.

At noon, the daily builds start.

At 12:10, you notice I resolved it fixed and assigned it to you, and go to test it. Wow, the bug still happens! Whyever could that be? Could it be because it takes four hours to build everything, and another couple before it gets put into a setup drop for testing, and that you're really looking at yesterday's build? Build number 040729?

Nah, I must just be an idiot. So, do you say that it isn't fixed and reactivate the bug so that I can look at it some more? Nah, what would that accomplish? Obviously, I'm an idiot and can't fix a simple crash.

So you close that bug, saying that it's sort of fixed but there are some additional problems, then enter a new bug with the exact same steps and results, opened rev 040729, and assign it to someone else.

But it's an acceptance test bug, and I get mailed a list of those every day, so I notice and dup it.

And now I hate you.

Have a nice day.
