P: "It's not really a wind, just a pressure differential."
J: "Isn't that what wind is?"
A: "Sort of; that's like saying current is the same thing as voltage, though."
J: "I managed to avoid ever studying that electrical stuff when studying computer engineering."
A: "Ah. I was going to major in electrical engineering, actually, until I discovered that it was all messy and nondeterministic, and it seemed like all they were doing was guessing that their design was right and then testing it to make sure it worked. That really didn't appeal to me at all. So I went into software, which is all perfectly deterministic."
