So, yeah, there was a fourth of July.
In the morning, I went to crossroads and played a couple games of magic... big group games. With the new blue affinity deck I made. Yeah, I know, how ORIGINAL.
Anyway, instead of going to the movie or back to someone's house, I headed over to Tom's place for food and fireworks. And, as it turned out, more magic -- he had us play a game of 'Tower Magic' using all the same deck, and a couple other rules. It worked out pretty well... I ended up losing because Ed counterspelled a fireball aimed at Tom.
"Why did you do that?!!"
"I can't win, so I wanted to have an effect on how the game turns out."
"Fuck you, Ed. Grumble grumble."
So, yeah, I died horribly to Tom's counterattack.
Tom was annoyed that hardly anyone showed up, and he had all this extra food... I made a valiant effort to assist in its consumption, but it was to no avail.
The fireworks were kind of neat, although they didn't really compare to the professional displays we couldn't really see from his house. The 'What's Up' was cool, though -- the light and noise looked just like an anime 'release the trapped souls' sequence. n.n
After he finished with what he'd bought, there was still a little of the winery display going on, so Ed and I ran up the hill (past the spooky pile of smouldering fireworks the neighbor kids were building in the street -- yikes!) and managed to catch the top half of the last half of it.
After the fireworks, we tried to watch Bulletproof Monk, but I kept falling asleep, so I headed home instead. z.z
