I was encouraged by marketing to show up to a local user's group meeting on campus last night, because they 'needed people there'. I really shouldn't have, because it was SO BORING and didn't let out 'till 9pm -- and I could have gone home after the cruise otherwise, at 4.
Plus, no one there cared about the app I work on, or had any questions relating to it.
So, basically, what was I thinking when I agreed to go? I think it was something like 'well, I'm supposed to connect more to customers, according to this review goal'. Pfeh.
It was sad, also: the purpose of the meeting was to demo the new product, that just shipped, but they demonstrated the *beta*! WTF? These people were probably *on* the beta!
