Since this week's game happened on Saturday, I was able to go to the Sunday gather at Crossroads. After getting a couple things at 80% off at Wizards (STILL closing) I ended up playing magic against 'Mike', who was very stubborn and determined to beat my artifact deck.

It was kind of interesting -- I ended up beating his decks in six straight games, but the artifact deck never worked the same way twice -- one time it would be recursion with a bone knife and skullclamp, another time fast-off-the-bat dross golems with scales... once it was infinite Mephitic Oozes using a Soul Foundry -- that one came out against his Big Creature deck tossing down multiple 8/8 critters. Basically, his decks shared one common set of flaws -- they were slow to build up (although not so slow that I could kill them before they did their thing), and had no way to deal with creatures with evasion, except for one deck which had Chastise.

After that I headed over to Legend's new place, since I didn't know where it was and wanted to find out. It ended up being a massive caravan of six cars and... well, FAR TOO MANY people. Legend told everyone to be quiet, and they *tried* to be quiet, but there were too many conversations going on in too small a space and it kept getting loud. Luckily, most of the people left after a short time to go over to Lex's and Firesplace's.

Darter and I ended up being the only people to stay, mostly because of inertia -- he was sitting on me again, and neither of us wanted to move. -.- So Legend showed us a strange 'movie' like thing with calming music and neat visuals... both of us dozed off a little for part of it.

So we watched a slightly more exciting movie next, 'The Sum of All Fears'. It was pretty good. And he fed us buffalo burgers. They were also pretty good.

Then we talked about magic for a while, and he showed us Magic Battlegrounds. It was NOT very good. It was, in fact, frustrating and annoying. Then Cal came over to take Darter home, and I realized it was midnight. Eep!
