Dear Diary...
Apr. 20th, 2004 01:22 pmI spent all yesterday -- which I had off work -- lazing around the house not doing much of anything. Actually, I saw Kill Bill 2, which didn't take place in the house, but still felt like 'not much of anything'.
I got lunch at Top Food and Drug which is next door to the movie theater. In a lot of ways they looked like they had a better selection of certain things than Safeway, but their chinese food was kind of halfhearted. I got some General Tso's and it tasted neither like actual General's or like the weird Safeway mutated General's that I like. It was more like Buffalo-style chicken bits.
I watched some Hyper Police, read some of 'The Excalibur Alternative' (or maybe 'option'?), about a bunch of English Knights kidnapped and forced to fight for an evil alien, and worked out what I want to do with the Scifi game on Friday, in general outline at least.
I got on Furtoonia and got paged by someone I've been playing around with lately... but *just* after mjoining him I was paged by Java and Speckles, either of whom I'd rather have spent time with. Ahwell, maybe I shouldn't be so quick to flee the public areas.
I also made a little progress on Ninja Gaiden -- I got past the level three boss, at least. The solution *was* to save up money and upgrade your sword, because that gave you a good hit-and-run attack, and hit and run was the way to beat him. According to the walkthrough, which matched my experience. Level Four then proceeded to go a very very long time without a save point (except for the one right at the start) which was annoying not because I thought I was in danger of dying (although I used a few more healing potions that I might have liked) but because I wanted to stop playing and go to sleep.
And today... it's back to work, and I have to remember how to do work. And what I'm supposed to be working on. I'm sure it'll come to me...
