It's MAGIC!
Mar. 24th, 2004 11:04 pmI bought some minis and magic cards tonight, because because because because because... because of the wonderful things he does!
No, wait, it was because I wanted to make an actual type II magic deck to play with if people got pissy about that sort of thing, and didn't have the Darksteel cards for it. I got a Skull Clamp, at least, which is the most abusive card in the set. It's basically 1: sacrifice a creature with 1 toughness, draw 2 cards. It can also be used for other things, but that would be silly.
I spent about three hours making up a simple black/blue deck in the Mirrodin/Darksteel style -- that is, 30 artifacts, and 10 black and blue cards. The theme of the deck is to kill people with juggernaughts, after maybe distracting them with arcbound thingies and myrs.
It's one of those decks that works really well when it works just right, and otherwise tends to sort of flail and not accomplish much. Which probably means it needs to be tuned more. Maybe I should take out blue. Or the Diabolical Tutors -- the deck is trying to be fast, and they are SO not.
I also discovered, as I sorted all the Scourge and Legions cards I'd never done anything with, how utterly crap and sucky Scourge and Legions were. They're all mistform and tribal and crap. Bleargh.
