terryclothI had some extra time before work this morning, and decided to get some real food 'aka fast food' instead of cafeteria food for lunch. Since the parking situation is still tight, I can't leave campus to go get lunch without losing my place and having to park across the street in the overflow lot, but I can pick something up on the way to work if I have the time.
Or, rather, I could if anywhere was open before 10. Togos wasn't open. McDonald's was open, but only serving breakfast -- and this McDonald's didn't have any way to escape from the drive through without waiting in line with everyone who was actually getting food.
So, since there was no one behind me, I started to back out, only to get stuck on a curb and realize that I'd have to do a 3-point turn to get out. Just as I finished that, someone came up to the drivethrough and stopped, blocking the entrance I was trying to get out. Eventually, I convinced him to back up 10 feet so I could get out, but then another person coming up sees him stopped and decides to swerve around him at high speed (20 mph) to dart past, even though he *had* to see what was going on.
He ended up trying to turn around and sneak in through the alternate drive through entrance (the one that no one uses, and I'd originally been planning on backing out), but got stuck on the curb, blocking my path until he managed to get aligned correctly.
It was still faster than waiting through the drive-through line, though.
