If you call me Aaron you know me from work or D+D or other non-internet-related things. If you call anyone Aaron in my presence I'll probably respond, though.
If you call me Terry you know me from MUCKs or whatever. I also pretty much always respond to this one too, even if I'm in a situation where it could not possibly apply to me, like in the work cafeteria.
If you call me Foxcutter I won't respond, because I'm not him.
If you call me Terry_Ferret then I'll be suspicious that you're talking about someone else (Terry Sender, I think it is?), even though it often describes me.
If you call me Terrycloth then you probably know me from LJ? Or somewhere else similar.
If you call me Mr. Weaselman, you're Dekk.
If you call me Turi, you're Sherry.
If you call me Yrret, you're Erfle.
There was something Maxl used to call me, but I can't remember what. Damn it. [edit: it was 'Torvalds'] Now I'm Tangent on UEI and occasionally called it there when I show up, which is not all that often, but that's the only place I'd see him.
If you call me Kijji then I *hope* you know me from the World Tree game I'm no longer in, because otherwise you know me from Tapestries.
