Let Them Eat Cake
Oct. 23rd, 2002 05:09 pmToday was a charity bake sale at work, and this year I made myself bid... I ended up buying a black forest cake for $80, which was the cheapest that anything sold for. Probably because (as I realized after buying it) it was covered in whipped cream frosting and didn't have a container, just a sheet of tinfoil that it sat on, which means getting it home could be a trial.
Of course, there's no way I'm going to be able to eat the entire cake, but I'm far too cheap to share it with anyone, at least unless they actually come ask, which no one's going to. Maybe I'll feed some of it to the squirrels. I like squirrels, and other urban animals -- coons, rats, crows...
After I blow up the environment and all of humanity, they'll be all that's left.
