That *would* be a better game...
Nov. 3rd, 2008 09:17 amI had a dream that I was playing Spore, kind of. The gameplay was sort of a weird cross between the tribal and creature stages -- there was exploration like the creature stage (I went through a tunnel-maze), but I was mostly blowing up buildings to take away enemy special abilities, like 'burrowing' which I was using to blow up their buildings.
I finally defeated their huge nest, but I decided that I wanted to change my creature around to make it into a 'spikier wolf'. Since this involved devolving out of the tribal stage, I lost the game -- aliens came down out of the sky and plopped down huge colonies, and patronizingly told me I'd have a better life under their rule.
Then, one of their ships came and scooped up me and most of my tribe, and plopped us down on a new planet to replay the creature stage -- it wasn't a game over, that was just how they explained all the tribal stuff going away when you devolved.
Strangely, I haven't played Spore in more than a week. I just started playing Doom 3 in addition to the Witcher, as far as single-player games goes. The Witcher is nothing like Spore, and Doom 3 is even less like Spore than that.
