It's probably a good sign that I haven't been bored enough to want to update Livejournal... only work can make me that bored. }:)

Today I decided to go see something naturelike while I had all the extra time from being on vacation, before it was over... I'd originally been planning to do it Wednesday, but the weather was... opaque. Today it was decent, so I got on the freeway and headed towards Mount Rainier...

Didn't make it. Started getting drowsy around Tacoma, and ended up pulling over in Nisqually, which had a wildlife preserve I decided would have to do. Ugh! Worst wildlife preserve ever! Even if it hadn't been under construction, it would have been no different from the boring bird-only swamp I accidentally saw in Ohio a while back, but it *was* under construction, and a swamp under construction is not a pretty sight. Dead and dying heaps of blackberries and cattails being bulldozed to make way for local plants, everywhere... stagnant pools of muddy water in the remains of the diked off waterways...

So that was a bust.

Ahwell. Most of the time I've been playing video games, of course. Kya: Dark Lineage is the main offender -- it's a pretty standard action/platformer. It's got some neat stuff, like the vertical stages and the 'purification' dealy, and some really, really frustrating stuff, like the way they tend to position the enemies you need to purify on tiny ledges over bottomless pits, and add knockdown to pretty much every attack you do, making you kill yourself over and over until the defeated enemies somehow end up still on the ledge for you to purify. Oh, and the dogs. Whose sadistic brain child were the DOGS?

Right. Anyway, today, just before I was leaving, Chrono Trigger came in. I ordered it a while ago after complaining to someone about how lost I was in Breath of Fire after not playing it for two years, and he said something along the lines of 'that's nothing -- imagine if it was Chrono Trigger!' So I've been playing it today, instead. Gaah, active time battles. v.v Other than that, it's good. Just got to the end of time.

Also played a little City of Heroes... I think I'm completely and totally sick of low level characters, but the high level ones are still fun. Not a good sign for continued longevity. Or ever playing City of Villains again.
