Insult to Injury
Sep. 7th, 2005 12:42 am[BLEEP]ing city of heroes. [BLEEP]ing [BLEEP]hole statesman. [BLEEP][BLEEP][BLEEP].
Er, that is, I downloaded the rest of the patch for issue 5 and tried to play my controller. Soloing was faster, since I did have an attack slotted up (flurry), but once I joined a group I was fairly useless. Of course, it wasn't a really good test because we were fighting a bunch of flying witches who were inherently immune to everything I could do.
Seeing as [BLEEP]ing statesman [BLEEP]ing nerfed [BLEEP]ing fossilize to only [BLEEP]ing work on people touching the [BLEEP]ing ground.
[BLEEP]er.
The -fly on stone cages didn't seem to be working right either. Otherwise, that might have been a solution. The enemies would sort of drift downwards veeeeeery sloooooowly, still attacking the whole time, and couldn't be held until they actually reached the ground.
So, here's my impresion of the new zone, Croatoa: Lots of creatures I can't even begin to fight (with K'teri) because they fly, and the devs have decided earth 'trollers can't fight flying creatures. No new missions or contacts that I could find -- certainly none on the map, or near the train station, which is the only entrance. One task force, that starts with a mission that's buggy and can't be completed -- you're supposed to defeat an archvillain. Which we did. Three times. Then she stopped showing up, but the mission text still said to defeat her.
Although it looks like you can fail it to continue the TF, since that's what happened when we all left the map. Of course, we didn't do that until we'd given up on the task force as our spirits had been thoroughly crushed by hours of searching the same stupid map (and it was only at the end of it that we found the stupid exit, which didn't work like every other outdoor map).
