Stupid Hospitals

Sandy sent out mail to the (friday RPG) group list yesterday that Lazar was in the hospital, recovering from appendicitis. She told us to call, but I couldn't find the hospital's number anywhere on their website, and it was sort of on the way home from work, so I stopped by then.

I thought visiting hours were until 8, but apparently they just don't care, and I was there 'till about 11:30 listening to Lazar talk about his life, and magic, and religion, and the game, and other games... eventually he let me go. I was getting itchy because I was worried I wanted to play Halo 2, which just came out. }:)

During the conversation, especially the parts about religion, the man in the bed next to him, who was apparently still waiting on his operation and was in horrible pain, kept moaning things seemingly in response to the conversation. It was really creepy.

Now, it looks like I'm getting a cold. I guess this shouldn't be too surprising, having just gone to a hospital with lots of sick people around. Stupid hospitals.

Um...

Okay, I'm guessing Lazar got a different ride home. I certainly wasn't enthusiastic about offering to drive him down to Renton on my lunch hour (since it would have taken up an entire actual hour to get there and back, likely). I just hope that I was right in assuming that 'he never called me' means 'he found another ride'.

I suppose if he was really stranded there expecting me to show up, he would have called. }:P

On the subject of Jack, I recently joined the messageboard and started posting now and then... I don't remember why. A little more recently, I got flamed for complaining about the stupidity of one of the villains because 'That's already been settled, it's all part of a plan!'

Um, yeah. A group of fans reaching consensus on an issue (which didn't even really happen -- a couple people put forth the theory and no one bothered to dispute it, is all) doesn't settle what's actually going to happen in a comic.

And, oh look! I was right. Bob was just being stupid.
