Both of those disrupted the Friday game this week. Around Wednesdayish, Murdock posted to say he'd be late. Not super-late, but later than I usually am, and potentially late enough to disrupt dinner. But we planned around it, and it looked like everything would be okay.

But when I arrived on Friday, Snowwy wasn't there. He hadn't called, he wasn't reachable by phone, which (sadly) isn't a cause for *panic* as such because it happens now and then. Sandy kept trying to call him, while Lazar went to search the park and rides in case it was just that his phone was dead, and eventually Murdock showed up, around when he said he would.

When Lazar got back with still no sign of Snowwy, we decided we had to at least go and start dinner, or we'd never get anything done. At the restaurant, we finally got a call -- he'd overslept and would show up at such and such time, which was conveniently after we'd be done with dinner. We picked him up some food to go, finished our meal, and headed back.

So we got started a little late, but only about an hour late overall, since dinner is a delay in itself that happens even when everything goes right. But then, Lazar started suggesting modifications we could make to our characters, again... and pointing out a few consequences of various things we'd picked... so we ended up doing character creation for a THIRD week.

But we have characters now:
Charlie Kellner, an (American) Indian Witch-Doctor. That is, shaman who makes a living as a physician, only offering his *special services* to discreet and wealthy customers.

Don Faraday (pronounced 'dawn'), a college dropout who somehow managed to blow up a wing of the school. He says it's the professor's fault. He's a gadgeteer, building overly high-tech stuff extremely quickly and cheaply.

And... damn it, what was Snowwy's char's name? I never remember all the names on the first try. Sigh. At any rate, he's a wealthy mine owner, who probably has other secrets and abilities that I'm not privy to.

We sort of started to play -- a bunch of miners in Snowwy's mine vanished, with only one escaping to report. He said that everyone had died of different, mysterious coincidences, after the mine broke though into some ancient and presumably evil temple (or whatever). He brought back an artifact that Charlie was able to confirm was magical -- primordial magic, from before his people walked the land.

So, after spending an hour or two getting magical protections from an Indian accountant, a drunken, one-armed priest, and Charlie's chanting and face-painting, five (snowwy brought along two combat-oriented allies) intrepid investigators were ready to head down to face the evil spirits and exorcise them from the mine, before they all went broke.
