Today was what turned out, somewhat to my surprise, to be the last session of Murdock's BESM game. It was kinda pointless, but had some nice imagery.

game summary )

Now we're supposed to make characters for Lazar's next game -- restricted to a half dozen races, young and still in school, second or worse sons or daughters of nobility, with ties to the underworld. I don't have any great ideas right now, since I wasn't even considering that we'd end the BESM game so abruptly, but I'm sure I'll come up with something.

So, because I was worried that I might fail the emissions inspection this year since my car only barely passed it last year, I decided to get a jump on it and get my car inspected as quickly as possible, and hopefully beat the rush.

Well, the last part certainly didn't work. I waited in line for an hour before I finally pulled up to the testing station, and after showing documentation and paying $15, the tester took one look at my dashboard and failed me immediately because the 'Check Engine' light was on.

It's been on for about five years, through two inspections that I passed. But apparently the rules have changed now, and I have to get it fixed. Of course, last time I got it fixed it stayed fixed for all of five minutes -- it was literally on again by the time I got home from the shop.

So now I have to hassle with mechanics and get a paper trail so I can prove I tried to fix it (again) and get a waiver, since actually getting the light to stay off is unlikely.
